Bandits ambushed and killed 10 security operatives and 3 civilians in Zamfara during a rescue operation for seven abducted individuals. The incident occurred as security personnel were returning from Adabka village, resulting in the rescue of four kidnapped victims.

The casualties included one mobile policeman, five Civilian Joint Task Force members, and four community guards, with three rescued civilians also killed in the ambush. The District Head of Adabka confirmed that a mobile police officer had gone missing during the attack but managed to escape after hiding in the forest.

The lawmaker representing Bukuyum South constituency called on the federal government to urgently intervene to ensure the safety of the community, as residents are living in fear following the killings. The attack in Zamfara follows a similar incident in Sokoto State, where bandits killed two worshippers and abducted six others.
