OPay Guides Nigerians on N50k Relief Eligibility Check

OPay, a digital financial services provider, has outlined the process for Nigerians to check their eligibility for the Federal Government's N50,000 monthly cash relief as disbursement begins. Eligible customers will receive a pop-up notification on the homepage of their OPay mobile application, which they must click to proceed with the payment steps.

OPay clarified that customers who do not see this notification are not eligible for the relief. The company emphasized that it does not determine eligibility and directed inquiries to the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) helpline.

OPay also warned customers to be cautious of fraudsters requesting sensitive banking information or payments for access to the relief, stating that it will never ask for Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) or One-Time Passwords (OTPs) for processing payments. Customers are advised to check eligibility only through the official OPay app or by dialing the USSD code *955*20#.
