Ekiti Governor Secures APC Return Ticket Amid Controversy

Ekiti Governor Oyebanji clinched the APC return ticket through a consensus arrangement following the disqualification of two aspirants, including main challenger Engineer Kayode Ojo, in the party's primary held in Ado Ekiti. The move triggered controversy within the Ekiti chapter, with support for Ojo describing it as undemocratic.

The APC National Working Committee (NWC) cleared Oyebanji after disqualifying Ojo, Olawunmi, and Omolayo for alleged failure to comply with the party's constitution. The decision to adopt Oyebanji as the consensus candidate was communicated to INEC, leading to concerns and a petition for a review of the primary process by stakeholders, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
