Community Leader Condemns Killing of Plateau Ruler

Chief Sunday Arandong, a community leader in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State, condemned the killing of Da Jatau Yohanna Samkwar, the Mishkaham Bokkos, by individuals suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Monday. Arandong reported that the traditional ruler was shot in the leg at his residence in Daffo during the night.
He was initially taken to a local hospital but was later referred to another facility where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Arandong expressed concern over the persistent attacks and killings in Bokkos, stating that the community has faced constant threats for the past two decades.
Despite these challenges, he noted that residents continue their daily activities. He urged the federal government to increase security personnel, particularly from the DSS, in vulnerable areas of Bokkos LGA.
Arandong also called on community members to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement to prevent further security breaches.
