Obasanjo Credits Mabogunje for Saving Presidential Library Project

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo disclosed at a public lecture that he almost abandoned the construction of his presidential library in Abeokuta but was persuaded by the late Prof. Akinlawon Mabogunje to continue.

The library, inaugurated in 2017, houses millions of books and personal memorabilia. Obasanjo praised Mabogunje's contributions to national policies, including the establishment of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The event marked the third posthumous birthday of Prof. Mabogunje, a renowned geographer.

Dignitaries like Dr. Tunji Olaopa and Chief Wole Olanipekun attended the lecture.
