Mbah's Strategy Transforms Enugu into Crime-Free Zone

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State is actively transforming the state into a hostile environment for criminal activities through significant investments in intelligence, technology, and inter-agency security operations. This strategy aims to enhance the capacity of security agencies and restore public confidence, thereby creating a safer environment for residents, businesses, and investors.

A recent operation by the Enugu State Police Command resulted in the arrest of 14 suspected kidnappers linked to a network operating across multiple states, including Rivers, Kogi, Nasarawa, Kwara, Taraba, and the Federal Capital Territory. The police, led by Commissioner Mamman Bitrus Giwa, recovered five AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one locally fabricated firearm, 310 rounds of live ammunition, eight live cartridges, and seven empty AK-47 magazines.

Mbah emphasizes that security is foundational to economic growth, aiming to increase Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion, contingent upon establishing a secure environment.
