2026 FIFA World Cup Prize Fund Reaches $871 Million

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to feature a record prize fund of $871 million, marking a 50% increase from the previous tournament in Qatar. FIFA initially announced a total prize pool of $727 million in December 2025, which was later approved for an increase in April 2026.

The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and will include 48 teams competing in 104 matches. The prize money will be divided into performance-based rewards and non-performance-based financial support.

The champion will receive $51 million, while the runner-up will earn $34 million. Teams reaching the quarter-finals will receive $20 million, and those eliminated in the round of 16 will earn $16 million.

Additionally, every participating nation is guaranteed at least $12.5 million, with a minimum of $10 million for teams finishing in 33rd to 48th place, ensuring financial support for all teams.
