Amaka Shares PCOS Struggles Months After Marriage

Amaka, known as Chef Amaka, is the wife of Nigerian health influencer Aproko Doctor. She married in June and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) just three months later after experiencing missed menstrual periods.

During a hospital visit, doctors confirmed her condition, which led to significant changes in her body, including weight gain and a broader upper body. Amaka faced negative comments from people who claimed she looked older than her husband.

The emotional toll of her inability to conceive affected her deeply, leading to societal questioning of her husband's masculinity and their potential to have children. Amaka expressed her distress over these comments, stating that they made her cry and impacted her relationship with her husband, who faced unwarranted scrutiny regarding his ability to father children.
