UBA Launches Pan-African Environmental Wellness Initiative

UBA Plc has transformed its wellness initiative into a pan-African drive for environmental sustainability, engaging thousands of employees across 20 African countries in community clean-up activities. The initiative, named "Jog Bond," emphasizes the connection between healthy living and environmental responsibility.

Coordinated by UBA's Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Olive Alawuba, the program aligns with the bank's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) agenda. The event coincided with UBA's 60th anniversary, marking a significant milestone for the organization.

Employees participated in various fitness activities, including spin bike sessions and therapeutic exercises, while also contributing to cleaner public spaces. Alero Ladipo, UBA's Group Head of Market Corporate Communication, stated that the initiative reflects the bank's commitment to fostering a healthy workplace culture and strengthening team spirit.

UBA aims to create a positive social impact and encourage employees to become ambassadors for change within their communities, reinforcing the belief that corporate success is intertwined with social responsibility.
