Prof. Ogadinma Trains Stand for Humanity on Human Rights

Prof. Onyema Ogadinma, an Associate Professor of Law at Imo State University and Principal Partner of Victory Law Chambers, conducted a seminar for members of the Stand for Humanity Foundation in Owerri. The seminar focused on the theme “The Role of Civil Society Organisations in Human Rights Advocacy.” Ogadinma urged civil society organizations (CSOs) to combine activism with professionalism and accountability.
He highlighted that human rights advocacy involves intervening when rights are threatened and giving a voice to vulnerable individuals. The seminar covered the constitutional and legal foundations of human rights advocacy, particularly access to justice under Section 46 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
Ogadinma stressed the need for effective actors to connect vulnerable persons to legal mechanisms and emphasized the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders, including lawyers, law enforcement, and the media, to address systemic human rights violations.
