DCP Anthony Okon Placid Appointed New Police FPRO

On Tuesday, DCP Anthony Okon Placid was officially handed over the position of Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigerian Police Force, taking over from ACP Hundeyin. The handover ceremony occurred at the Nigerian Police Headquarters, Loui Edet House, in Abuja.

This appointment was approved by the Inspector General of Police. DCP Placid, born on December 2, 1970, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has extensive experience in administration, operations, intelligence, and international peacekeeping.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Uyo and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the National Open University of Nigeria. Placid joined the Nigerian Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1996 and was commissioned in August 1998.

He has attended several professional international courses, including training in peace operations and humanitarian law.
