DCP Anthony Placid Appointed New Police PRO in Nigeria

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Placid as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Police Force, effective immediately. This decision replaces the outgoing PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, as announced in a statement issued on Sunday, which was signed by Hundeyin.

DCP Placid, born on December 2, 1970, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Uyo and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the National Open University of Nigeria. He began his career in the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1996 and has attended various professional international courses.

His extensive experience includes roles in public relations, training, and operational intelligence, both within Nigeria and internationally, including missions with the African Union and the United Nations. Placid is also a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and has received training in various fields related to law enforcement.
