Davido Discusses Global Respect and New Album Plans

In a recent Twitch stream, Nigerian music star Davido stated that his international respect is rooted in his status as a "King" in Nigeria. He shared insights on how his popularity in Nigeria influences the recognition he receives abroad, referencing Jamaican Reggae artist YG Marley’s astonishment at his local fame during a visit to Nigeria.

Davido also encouraged content creator Efe, who faced visa challenges due to U.S. immigration policies, to continue building his career in Nigeria. Additionally, Davido announced his return to Afrobeats with a new album, which was released on July 31 and features 13 tracks, marking a departure from his previous albums that contained 17 songs.

This album signifies a new era in his 15-year career as one of Afrobeats' leading figures. He is also planning a world tour following the album release, similar to his previous 5IVE tour.
