Davido Urges Nigerian Artistes to Focus on Home Shows

Afrobeats superstar Davido expressed concerns regarding the shifting international demand for Nigerian artistes during an interview on The Uncut Podcast. He urged industry veterans to prioritize performing in Nigeria, highlighting a decline in the overseas market's appeal.

Davido stated, “In the next 10 years I want the music OGs to come back to Nigeria,” citing a phenomenon he referred to as “see finish” in London and America. He compared the current landscape to three years ago, noting that while at least 20 artists could sell out shows in London then, now he can only identify about 4 or 5 who can achieve that.

This reflects a noticeable shift in the ability of Nigerian artistes to independently attract audiences in foreign markets.
