I can’t be intimidated – Tambuwal breaks silence, reveals conversation with EFCC operatives

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has broken his silence regarding his encounter with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives. The agency reportedly detained Tambuwal in Abuja over alleged fraudulent cash withdrawals amounting to N189 billion.

Tambuwal revealed that he was first invited by the EFCC and voluntarily went to their office on August 6. After an initial round of questioning, he was allowed to leave but asked to return on August 10 for further interrogation.

Despite his legal team's request to return home, EFCC officials insisted on two sureties, one of whom must be a director in the Federal Civil Service. Tambuwal claimed that his detention was politically motivated and an attempt to intimidate and blackmail him.

He maintained his innocence and criticized the EFCC's refusal to vary his bail conditions.
