PDP slams EFCC over Tambuwal’s detention, alleges plot by APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for inviting and detaining former governor Senator Aminu Tambuwal over alleged financial misconduct. The PDP described the move as politically motivated and aimed at silencing opposition voices.

They accused the EFCC of selectively prosecuting cases and ignoring genuine corruption within the ruling party. The party alleged that the EFCC's actions were part of a wider plan by the federal government to intimidate political opponents.

The PDP maintained that Tambuwal's administration was known for fiscal discipline and transparency, and urged the agency to act with integrity. Despite the probe, the party expressed confidence in Tambuwal's integrity and called for calm among supporters in demanding genuine democracy and good governance.
