Adebayo Claims 2023 Election Was a Charade Against INEC

Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), asserted that the 2023 election was fundamentally flawed, characterizing it as a contest against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rather than between candidates. During an appearance on Politics Today on Channels TV, Adebayo described the election results as fake and a charade, urging that any analysis based on these results would legitimize fraud.

He expressed hope that the 2027 elections would see candidates competing against each other rather than against INEC, which he viewed as a significant issue in the previous election. Adebayo called for unity among Nigerians, including members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), whom he claimed recognize the party's irrelevance and the prevalence of a one-man rule.

He also prayed for the current INEC officials and the police, wishing for a more cooperative relationship in future elections.
