Datti Baba-Ahmed Joins PRP, Seeks Credible Leadership

Datti Baba-Ahmed, a former vice presidential candidate, announced his defection to the People's Redemption Party (PRP) during a formal address at the party's national secretariat. He clarified that his decision to join the PRP was not motivated by a desire for a presidential ticket.

Baba-Ahmed noted that Nigeria is facing unprecedented political and economic pressures, and he believes that the PRP can provide a credible alternative to the current leadership. He criticized the existing political system for weakening opposition parties and emphasized the importance of maintaining electoral integrity.

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the national chairman of the PRP, welcomed Datti to the party, describing his defection as a significant boost to the party's vision for alternative leadership in Nigeria.

Baba-Ahmed also stated that the PRP is positioned to win elections at various levels in 2027.
