Iyabo Obasanjo Explains Delay in Joining APC

Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, revealed her reasons for delaying her membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking on a current affairs program on EAGLE 102.5 FM in Ilesa, Ogun State, she stated that she did not want to go against her father, who is a notable chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Iyabo disclosed that she had quit the PDP long ago but felt unable to join the APC earlier due to her father's political stance. This announcement comes as she prepares to actively participate in politics ahead of the 2027 general elections in Ogun State, marking her return to political engagement after a 15-year hiatus.
