Tinubu Denies Allegations of Violence Against Opposition

During an interfaith iftar meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu addressed allegations regarding his administration's role in the alleged intimidation and killing of opposition figures. He firmly rejected these claims, stating, "I don’t have a gun," and emphasized that defections from opposition parties to the ruling Progressive Congress (APC) were voluntary actions by politicians.

Tinubu argued that the current political tension is a result of internal crises within opposition parties rather than intimidation from his administration. He called for cooperation among political leaders, regardless of party affiliation, to address Nigeria's broader challenges, including insecurity and terrorism.
