Ireti Kingibe Declines APC Membership Despite Ties to Tinubu

Ireti Kingibe, a senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced on a television program that she has known President Bola Tinubu for 40 years but will not be joining the All Progressives Congress (APC). She emphasized her primary loyalty to the people of FCT and her intent to collaborate with the president strictly in the interest of her constituents.

Kingibe expressed dissatisfaction with the current leadership of the APC in the FCT, particularly criticizing the party's chairman for seeking a fourth term despite constitutional limits of two terms. She clarified that joining the APC is not an option for her, despite being a founder of the party in the FCT.
