Lupita Nyong’o Reveals Struggle with 50 Fibroids

In a recent interview on NBC's "Today" show, actress Lupita Nyong’o disclosed that she has over 50 fibroids, with the largest being the size of an orange. Nyong’o, 42, first diagnosed with fibroids in 2014, shared her emotional journey of dealing with severe and persistent pain alongside her successful acting career.

She underwent surgery shortly after her diagnosis, but doctors warned her that the fibroids were likely to return. Nyong’o explained that doctors often use fruit analogies to help patients visualize the size of fibroids.

After 12 years since her initial surgery, she currently experiences the presence of 50 fibroids. She emphasized the urgent need for greater awareness and better treatment options for those suffering from similar reproductive health conditions.
