Bwacha Asserts Right to Contest Taraba Governorship

Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, a senior member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has declared his intention to contest for the governorship of Taraba State. He emphasized his longstanding involvement with the PDP and dismissed claims made by Obidah Bitru, who alleged that Bwacha's actions could destabilize the party.

Bwacha pointed out that Bitru's claims regarding his position as acting state chairman were unfounded, asserting that the PDP had already conducted its congress, resulting in Alhaji Ibrahim Sale Abba being elected as the new chairman. Furthermore, Bwacha rejected any notion of factionalism within the PDP, attributing misunderstandings to a lack of recognition at the national level.

He also noted that a recent court appeal judgment reaffirmed the PDP's unity. Bitru, on the other hand, denied allegations of attempting to destabilize the party and explained his role in line with the PDP constitution following the defection of former chairman Alhaji Abubakar Bawa to the APC.
