Banky W Reflects on 2023 Election Loss and Pastoral Journey

Bankole Wellington, known as Banky W, shared the emotional toll of his defeat in the 2023 general election while contesting for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He described the experience as heartbreaking and a catalyst for his decision to enter pastoral ministry.

Celebrating his first anniversary as a pastor, Banky W reflected on how the election loss prompted him to reassess his life's direction, questioning whether to focus on politics, entertainment, business, or ministry. He realized that God was not limiting him to one path but expanding his purpose.

Banky W stated, “The election didn’t go the way I hoped. But God’s plans for my life are bigger than the plans I had for myself.” He emphasized that he remains active in filmmaking, music, and entrepreneurship while also embracing his roles as a pastor and professor.
