ABSU VC Rejects Parental Transfer Requests for Medicine, Law

Professor Ndukw Okeudo, the Vice Chancellor of Abia State University (ABSU) in Uturu, stated that he has rejected requests from parents seeking to transfer their children into the university's medicine and law programs. He emphasized that the admission process is strictly merit-based and that no student who did not pass the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination could be admitted into these disciplines.

Okeudo addressed journalists in preparation for the combined convocation scheduled for November 30, December 1, and December 2, 2024. He also praised Governor Alex Otti for addressing salary backlogs left by the previous administration, which has positively impacted the university's operations.

A total of 10,255 scholars are expected to participate in the upcoming convocation ceremony, highlighting the university's commitment to maintaining high academic standards.
