Omo-Agege Backs Tinubu's Policies, Endorses Obi for 2027

Ovie Omo-Agege, the former Deputy Senate President, publicly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu's economic policies while also endorsing Peter Obi for the 2027 presidential election. Omo-Agege made these remarks during an appearance on Arise TV's morning show on Wednesday.

He explained his political stance following his recent resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and subsequent defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Omo-Agege, who represented Delta Central, lost the senatorial election to Ed Dafinon, securing 3,643 votes compared to Dafinon's 116,252 votes.

He announced his resignation from the APC in a letter dated May 22, addressed to the APC chairman of Orogun Ward 2 in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. Omo-Agege emphasized that his support for Tinubu's economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira, remains unchanged despite his party switch, asserting that these policies are crucial for Nigeria's economic progress.
