Doro Advocates Reform for Vulnerable Nigerians in New Role

Doro, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, stated that he adopted a reformist method upon his appointment to positively impact vulnerable populations in Nigeria. This was communicated during a courtesy visit from Pharmacist Ibrahim Baba Shehu Ahmed, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, on July 31, 2026.

Dr. Doro praised the Pharmaceutical Society for their efforts in regulating the industry and urged them to continue their work for a healthier society.

He highlighted the ministry's flagship program, the One Humanitarian One Poverty Reduction System (OHOPRS), which aims to provide an integrated framework for humanitarian response, social protection, and poverty reduction initiatives. This program seeks to eliminate fragmentation and duplication in humanitarian efforts.

Pharmacist Ibrahim expressed support for Dr. Doro's initiatives and noted the council's commitment to international best practices in regulating the pharmaceutical industry across Nigeria.
