Alaafin of Oyo Criticizes Governor Makinde Over Obas Council Chairman Inauguration

The Alaafin of Oyo, Abimbola Owoade, expressed dissatisfaction with Governor Seyi Makinde for inaugurating Rashidi Ladoja as the chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs without consulting him. The Alaafin denied being part of any prior discussions on the rotational chairmanship among the traditional rulers in the state.

His spokesperson, Bode Durojaiye, clarified that the Alaafin did not endorse the rotational arrangement. The governor had previously agreed with other monarchs on the rotation, but the Alaafin's palace refuted any consultation on the matter.
