Oyo State traditional rulers, including Olubadan of Ibadan, back Rashidi Ladoja as the newly inaugurated council chairman. However, Alaafin of Oyo was conspicuously absent from the event, leading to a statement denying Governor Makinde's claim of a meeting.

The council members across different zones of the state declared their support for Ladoja, marking his leadership after a 15-year hiatus. The rotational chairmanship system among traditional rulers was explained by Governor Makinde during the event.
