Adekanmbi Pledges to Serve Oyo People as APM Candidate

Hon Bimbo Adekanmbi, the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Oyo State, announced on Tuesday that he would act as a surrogate to the 7.9 million people of the state. During an appearance on Arise TV’s “Good Morning Show,” Adekanmbi expressed his intention to continue the developmental efforts initiated by Governor Seyi Makinde if elected in the upcoming general election.

He affirmed that, despite receiving Makinde's endorsement, his primary allegiance would be to the people of Oyo State. Adekanmbi dismissed suggestions that his administration would represent a third term for Makinde, stating he would strive to be a “higher version” of the incumbent.

He emphasized the importance of building on Makinde's achievements over his two terms. Adekanmbi clarified that his candidacy was not a result of being handpicked by the governor but emerged through consensus among party stakeholders.

He also highlighted his experience as a former commissioner for finance, where he successfully managed the Ibadan urban flood program and ensured the independence of the state board of internal revenue.
