APM Candidate Bimbo Adekanmbi's Security Plans for Oyo

Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, the governorship candidate for the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Oyo State, announced on Tuesday that he would implement a holistic strategy to tackle insecurity, especially in the Oke-Ogun region. Speaking during the “Good Morning Show” on Arise TV, Adekanmbi, a former Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State, stated that he would engage local communities and utilize the state security outfit, Amotekun, for enhanced security measures.

He plans to recruit local residents to support conventional security agencies and ensure proper data collection of individuals in affected areas for effective monitoring. Adekanmbi expressed his intention to continue the developmental initiatives of the current governor, Seyi Makinde, if elected in the 2027 general election, asserting that he would serve the interests of the 7.9 million people of Oyo State.

He refuted claims that his administration would represent a third term for Makinde, instead promising to build upon the achievements of the outgoing governor.
