Wike Threatens to Seal PDP Turaki Faction Headquarters

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, declared that any house used as a headquarters by the Turaki faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) would be sealed off. Wike warned banks to refrain from permitting the Turaki-led faction to open accounts or sell nomination forms for the 2027 elections, stating that such actions would deceive Nigerians.

This declaration was made during a monthly media chat on a Wednesday. The context of Wike's statement follows a Supreme Court ruling that addressed the leadership crisis within the PDP, which had left the party without recognized leadership.

The court's ruling invalidated the November 2025 national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, and upheld the suspension of several party officials, including Senator Samuel Anyanwu and Umar Batur. The ruling also stated that the actions taken by these officials were null and void, leading to the appointment of Abdulrahman Moha as the acting national chairman of the party.
