Ibadan Creator Summit to Empower Young Creatives

The Ibadan Creator Summit, organized by Dr Shola Adeyemi, is set to take place on September 5 at Harvest House, Ibadan. The summit aims to empower young creatives and contribute to the economic development of the city, with over 3,000 participants expected to attend for free.

Adeyemi highlighted that Ibadan produces talented individuals in various creative fields, such as photography, content creation, journalism, and videography, but many leave for better opportunities in cities like Abuja and Lagos. He described this trend as an “export race” and emphasized the need for a platform that connects creators with brands.

The summit will focus on three key areas: building, monetizing, and skilling creators, aiming to equip participants with the knowledge to turn their creativity into sustainable income. Adeyemi noted that many creators in Ibadan earn significantly less than their counterparts in larger cities due to limited access to information and opportunities.

He expressed optimism that attendees would gain a new perspective on their creative careers.
