IBEDC Suspends Staff Over Electricity Vandalism in Osun

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has announced the suspension of staff members found complicit in the vandalism of electricity infrastructure in Ikirun, Osun State. Angela Olanrewaju, the Coordinating Head of Corporate Services, made this disclosure in a statement released on Wednesday in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The company welcomed the arrest of individuals by the Osun State Police Command related to this incident. Olanrewaju stated that the suspended staff would remain so pending the investigation's outcome, emphasizing IBEDC's commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring a thorough and impartial investigation.

She reiterated the company's zero-tolerance policy towards vandalism and theft of electricity infrastructure, highlighting the growing concern over such acts and their detrimental effects on electricity supply and customer service. IBEDC also called on customers and community members to report any suspicious activities around electricity infrastructure.
