Iran Strikes US Bases After Civilian Casualties Reported

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles and drones targeting US military installations across Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, and Bahrain. This action followed US strikes that reportedly killed four civilians, including a child, during a wedding in Sirik, Iran.

The IRGC confirmed the missile barrage aimed at a US Marine base in Jordan's Aqaba, citing civilian casualties as justification. Jordan's armed forces intercepted 13 missiles, destroying 10, while three landed in uninhabited areas.

Kuwait's military also responded to the missile fire. The IRGC claimed to have struck US bases in Iraq's Kurdistan region, destroying military infrastructure.

US Central Command (Centcom) acknowledged the civilian casualties but insisted that the US military does not target civilians. The US strikes began at 12:00 ET on September 2, 2027, following recent IRGC attempts to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The ongoing hostilities have roots in a series of strikes initiated by the US and Israel on February 28.
