ICPC Chairman Dr. Aliyu Receives Anti-Corruption Award

Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu (SAN), the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), was honored with an award for his advocacy in anti-corruption reforms at the 4th Economic Confidential Annual Lecture and 6th National Spokespersons Awards held in Abuja. The event, themed “Anti-Corruption Reforms, Economic Stability and Effective Communication,” featured a keynote address by Aliyu, who urged public relations officers and journalists to ensure accuracy and fairness in their reporting.

He warned that irresponsible messaging regarding corruption could normalize the very behaviors it seeks to condemn. Aliyu described strategic communication as a critical yet underestimated tool in the fight against corruption, stressing that citizens need to understand and trust reforms.

He praised the National Spokespersons Awards for promoting excellence in public communication, which he deemed essential for national development. Additionally, he announced the ICPC's initiative to consolidate school-based interventions into a National Schools Integrity Programme, advocating for a cultural shift towards integrity in Nigeria.
