ICPC Denies Access Restrictions to El-Rufai Amid Claims

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) denied allegations of restricting access to Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State. John Odei, the Deputy Director of Media and Public Communication at ICPC, addressed the media in Abuja, responding to claims made by El-Rufai's wife regarding access during an official visit.

Odei explained that ICPC operates under strict access control protocols, allowing visitor access from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. He categorized the allegations as untrue, emphasizing that the protocols are designed to maintain security for high-profile individuals like El-Rufai.

The controversy arose after a video interview aired, where El-Rufai's wife claimed that ICPC denied her entry to deliver food to her husband. Odei clarified that while family members are allowed access, it is subject to compliance with established protocols.

He noted that El-Rufai's wife admitted to arriving 30 minutes after the official access window closed, contradicting her claims.
