ICPC Denies ADC Leaders Access to Nasir El-Rufai

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has informed leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that they cannot visit former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who is currently in the commission's custody. This decision follows a request made by ADC leaders, including Rauf Aregbesola, Bolaji Abdullahi, and Salihu Lukman, to visit El-Rufai.

The ICPC Chairman, Musa Adamu Aliyu, explained that the request was denied due to El-Rufai's ongoing trials in both the Kaduna State High Court and the Federal High Court in Nigeria. The commission stated that access cannot be granted as the matter is under judicial consideration.

The ADC has expressed concerns regarding the treatment of El-Rufai, alleging political persecution and intimidation, and warned that the situation is being monitored closely by the public.
