ICPC Interrogates Gbajabiamila Over PFIPC Scandal

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, was questioned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) concerning his alleged role in the PFIPC scandal. On July 20, 2026, Gbajabiamila's counsel, Jiti Oguny, confirmed that he appeared at the ICPC headquarters and fully cooperated with the investigation.

This inquiry is part of a broader investigation into the activities of the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), which has been described as a fake agency. Allegations against Gbajabiamila include receiving N400 million in proxy demands and an additional N200 million for securing appointments.

Adeniyi Adeyemi has been accused of operating the PFIPC and has faced criminal charges, including forgery and impersonation. President Tinubu directed the ICPC to conduct a thorough investigation and submit a comprehensive report within 30 days.

The administration has distanced itself from the PFIPC, asserting it does not exist under the current government.
