Olarenwaju Warns Tinubu Over El-Rufai's Detention Risks

Demola Olarenwaju, a senior political assistant to Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding the potential risks of detaining former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Olarenwaju stated that Tinubu's administration would be held responsible if anything were to happen to El-Rufai, who has reportedly been denied access to medical attention while in custody.

Muyiwa Adekey, an aide to El-Rufai, claimed that the former governor is suffering from swollen, reddish, itchy eyes and requires urgent medical care. El-Rufai was arrested earlier this year at Abuja International Airport and charged in court with abuse of office and money laundering, allegations he reportedly committed while serving as governor.

Olarenwaju emphasized that the Tinubu regime cannot afford any negative consequences regarding El-Rufai's health, indicating that the situation poses a significant risk.
