Atiku Calls for Immediate Release of El-Rufai from Detention

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to immediately release Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State. Atiku's spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, condemned El-Rufai's ongoing detention, particularly at a time when Muslims across Nigeria are preparing for the Eid al-Kabir celebrations.

He described the situation as cruel and unjustified, expressing deep concern over the implications for civil liberties and democratic principles. Atiku highlighted the troubling nature of El-Rufai's ordeal, suggesting it reflects a broader pattern of political intimidation against perceived adversaries.
