ICPC Denies Arrest Claims Against Justice James Omotosho

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has addressed rumors circulating on social media about the arrest and prosecution of Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja. In a press statement issued by spokesperson John Odei on Tuesday, the ICPC categorically dismissed the claims as entirely untrue, asserting that they are intended to spread mischief and mislead the public.

The commission clarified that it has neither arrested nor invited Justice Omotosho in relation to any investigation, nor is it investigating him based on the allegations presented in the viral video. The ICPC emphasized its commitment to due process and the integrity of the judiciary, urging the public to disregard the misleading content and refrain from spreading unverifiable information that could cause unnecessary public concern and damage reputations.

The commission reiterated that it holds the judiciary in high regard and has no mandate to investigate judicial officers.
