Adeleke Denies ₦13 Billion Payroll Scam Allegations

Ademola Adeleke, the current Governor of Osun State, has publicly refuted allegations of a ₦13 billion payroll scam linked to his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola. In a statement made on Friday, Adeleke criticized the claims as politically motivated, suggesting they were orchestrated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to discredit his administration.

He highlighted that the audit report in question, which purportedly identified ghost workers, was initiated by his administration to combat corruption. Adeleke insisted that there is no evidence supporting the alleged fraud and that the audit process was transparent, confirming that two-thirds of the identified individuals were bona fide staff.

He called for a thorough investigation into the audit report, emphasizing his commitment to anti-corruption measures in governance.
