Allegations of N13.7bn Payroll Fraud Under Oyetola's Govt

Allegations have surfaced regarding a N13.7 billion payroll fraud that occurred under the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola in Osun State. Mallam Olawal Rashe, spokesperson for current Governor Ademola Adeleke, stated that an audit of the payroll system revealed significant discrepancies.

The audit was conducted by the firm Salli Tibbot, which Rashe emphasized was engaged to uncover fraud and not to conceal any issues. He criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for accusing Adeleke of misconduct, noting that any discrepancies found were during the APC's administration.

The audit reportedly identified ghost workers within the state civil service, prompting concerns from various community leaders. Rashe also mentioned that Dr.

Deji Adeleke, the governor's brother, was involved in discussions about the ghost worker issue. The findings of the audit have raised questions about the integrity of the previous administration's payroll practices.
