Osun Government Urges Consultant to Face Anti-Graft Probe

The Osun State government has called on payroll consultant Salli Tibbot to cooperate with an anti-graft investigation concerning allegations of irregularities in the state's payroll review process. This statement was issued on Wednesday in Osogbo by Olawal Rasheed, the spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The governor's office has referred the matter to the anti-corruption agency and has requested that the investigation proceed without media interference. Rasheed responded to allegations made by consultant Jiti Oguny during a television interview, asserting that the state government had not been given a fair opportunity to respond.

He highlighted that the payroll audit, which began in January 2023, was necessary to address issues inherited from previous administrations. Rasheed defended the actions of Chief of Staff Kazeem Akinley, stating that he acted within his official capacity during the audit.

The government remains committed to transparency and accountability in managing public resources and urges all parties to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
