Police Deploy Tactical Teams to Plateau After Deadly Attack

Following a violent attack on March 29 in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, which resulted in several residents' deaths, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu has ordered the deployment of mobile police units and tactical teams to Plateau State. The police chief condemned the attack and emphasized the need for a direct and massive deployment of security assets to restore calm, protect vulnerable communities, and ensure the arrest of those responsible for the violence.

The deployment includes additional tactical teams and personnel from the mobile police force, who will work in collaboration with security agencies to prevent further breakdown of law and order in the state. Additionally, Deputy Inspector General of Police Umar Nadada has been assigned to assess the security situation and coordinate ongoing operations.

The Inspector General has urged the public to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activities as efforts to restore normalcy continue.
