IG Disu Promises Justice After Plateau Killings

On Thursday, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu visited Plateau State in response to a deadly attack that occurred in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area. During his visit to the Government House in Jos, he met with Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who condemned the attack that took place on Sunday night.

Disu described the killings as tragic and unacceptable, assuring that the police would intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators. Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of operations, Umar Nadada, had previously been deployed to the state to assess the situation and coordinate security operations.

Governor Mutfwang expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and security chiefs for their support and expressed optimism that Plateau State would overcome its long-standing security challenges. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and cautious against misinformation on social media that could fuel tension.

Mutfwang announced stricter enforcement of a ban on commercial motorcycles, often linked to criminal activities, and pledged to improve the state’s transport system.
