Tinubu Visits Jos After Deadly Plateau State Attack

President Bola Tinubu postponed a scheduled trip to Iperu, Ogun State, to visit Jos, Plateau State, following a tragic attack on Sunday that resulted in at least 27 fatalities. During his visit on Wednesday, Tinubu met with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang to discuss the security situation.

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, ordered the deployment of mobile police units to Plateau State to bolster security. Governor Mutfwang expressed concerns about the ongoing security challenges, noting that the perpetrators of the attack had not yet been apprehended.

He described the incident as a "criminal barbaric act" and emphasized the need for proactive security measures. The governor also mentioned that looters attempted to disrupt peace in Jos following the attack, but security forces managed to restore order.

Tinubu's visit aims to show solidarity with the people of Plateau State and address the security crisis.
