IG Promotes 17,952 Junior Officers in Nigeria Police Force

The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the promotion of 17,952 junior police officers within the Nigeria Police Force. This initiative aims to enhance personnel welfare, boost morale, and reward diligent service.

The promotion exercise, disclosed by the Force Headquarters through the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anthony Okon, includes the elevation of 165 sergeants to the rank of inspector, 73 corporals to sergeant, and 17,714 constables to corporal. The Inspector General emphasized that these promotions are a critical component of the police's human resource management strategy and serve as a key tool to motivate officers.

Disu congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to embrace greater responsibility, professionalism, discipline, and dedication to service while upholding the core values of the Nigeria Police Force. He reiterated the commitment of the current police leadership to merit-based career progression and the development of deserving personnel.
