Enugu Govt Vows to Recover ₦5.7 Billion Amid Sujimoto Contract Controversy

The Enugu State Government vows to recover every penny of the alleged ₦5.7 billion money laundering and fund diversion case involving real estate developer Sujimoto. The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declared Sujimoto wanted, accusing him of failing to meet contractual obligations in constructing 22 Smart Schools.

The state government paid 50% upfront but claimed Sujimoto used inexperienced workers and produced substandard work. Despite Sujimoto's denial and tears in a video, the Enugu government remains resolute in seeking justice.

The government conducted joint inspections with the EFCC, revealing significant discrepancies in the project execution.
